Week 4 Recap: And Then There Was One

Undefeated teams dropped, big leads collapsed, and late-week chaos decided everything.

By: Gunnarrhea Week: 4 Feature: Matchup-by-matchup recap

Week 4 brought some of the tightest matchups of the season, with multiple games coming down to the final day. In the end, execution on Sunday separated contenders from everyone else. Before we get into the matchup recaps, we have to hand out the weekly hardware.

Weekly 4 Weekly Category Winner The Week 4 category winner is going to be Goodyear Gila Monsters by a very wide margin as they got 182 Total Bases and the second highest being 161.

New Weekly Category: Quality Starts

Me So Heorny vs This is Mizerable

Result: A mismatch from the jump, and it only got worse.
Me So Heorny 12.5 – 3.5 This is Mizerable

I feel like i'm repeating myself here with these This is Mizerable recaps. But it's fine, we love the shower shots. This years Battle of the Burbillies ended with no suprises as Me So Heorny dominated This is Mizerable 11.5 - 4.5. The entire week Me So Heorny kept their foot on the gas and rode away with an easy win. This is Mizerable I noticed has been a little quiet with the waiver wire as well. Maybe he's already given up? Or maybe Ryan Campin told him to stay off his phone while he's working? It could also be Sam thinks he's has too much screen time and he needs a break. Who knows. But whatever it is, it's not working out for This Is Mizerable. But because of the struggle, Me So Heorney remains undefeated and after Week 4 is the only undefeated team left!

Me So Heorny put up elite offensive numbers this week with 51 Runs, 15 Homeruns, 58 RBIs, .283 AVG, and 161 Total Bases. They were almost as the top of every offensive category and due to this, This is Mizerable could not keep up. Anyone would have had trouble against Me So Heorny this week and if they continue the way they are, I wouldn't be suprised if they keep their undefeated streak going for awhile.

League takeaway: Me So Heorny continues to look like the team to beat, staying undefeated behind dominant offensive production. As for This is Mizerable, lack of screentime is becoming a real concern moving forward.

Dixon Cider vs You Don't Know Bo

Result: A fight early, then a beatdown
Dixon Cider 11.5 – 4.5 You Don't Know Bo

Despite the lopsided score, this one was actually pretty close for most of the week. You Don’t Know Bo even grabbed a short-lived lead on Sunday, going up 8.5 – 7.5. But Dixon Cider wasn’t about to let Bo’s first win happen just yet. The offense turned the fuck up, balled out, and slammed the door shut to secure another win. The 2025 champ stays HOT — and not just in fantasy baseball ;). Meanwhile, the 2025 GM of the Year is still searching for answers and remains winless.

Both offenses came to play and were trading blows all week — 15 HRs to 14 HRs, 48 runs to 52 runs, 38 RBIs to 40 RBIs — you get the idea. The difference came on the mound, and it mostly came down to volume. Dixon Cider threw 87 innings compared to Bo’s 45. It’s tough to win pitching categories when your opponent is doubling your workload. Honestly, against most other teams, Bo probably walks away with a win here… but hey, that sucks.

League takeaway: Dixon Cider is proving last year wasn’t a fluke — this team knows how to finish and isn’t letting opponents breathe late in matchups. Meanwhile, You Don’t Know Bo is close, but until they can lock down pitching, those almost-wins are going to keep slipping away.

Goodyear Gila Monsters vs BB's Bold Team

Result: Undefeated sounds nice — until someone actually tests you.
Goodyear Gila Monsters 10 – 6 BB's Bold Team

Quite possibly the Week 4 Game of the Week. Goodyear Gila Monsters vs the 1st place, 2025 runner-up, and previously undefeated BB's Bold Team. The matchup lived up to the hype — back and forth all week, with neither side giving an inch and categories constantly flipping. But come Sunday, Goodyear’s offense said enough was enough. They turned it up when it mattered, pulled away late, and made sure there was no comeback story waiting at the end. It turns out BB's perfect record finally found it's expiration date. Honestly, im suprised it lasted that long with that weak ass lineup.

Goodyear’s offense included a league leading 19 Homeruns and .302 AVG. Elite stuff coming from the Arizona kid. Pitching looked a little shakey from both sides as they both put up pretty mid stats. But who the fuck am I to talk about pitching stats lol everyone had better pitching stats than Gunnarrhea this week.

League takeaway: Goodyear just proved BB’s record was a little inflated. When it mattered most, one team leveled up — the other folded.

Gunnarrhea vs BTA Boyz

Result: IT'S TOO EASY BABY!!!
Gunnarrhea 8.5 – 7.5 BTA Boyz

BUT IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER HOW BAD GUNNARRHEA'S PITCHING STATS WERE THIS WEEK!!! 104 IP and a 6.19 ERA? Who cares. .286 BAA? Doesn't matter. 8 Losses? Whatever. Them BTA Boyz caught that baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad case of Gunnarrhea this week. Gunnarrhea didn’t see a single lead all matchup… until Sunday at 8:13pm. And when what happened? It was Jac “The BTA Boyz Killer” Caglianone launching a 9th-inning moonshot to tie RBI category and lock up an 8.5 - 7.5 win for the commish. an oh man — told you Bramboozler, don’t let commish creep. You give the commish even a little window, and it’s wraps. That last-minute push didn’t just steal the win — it took down another undefeated team. Mmmmm… feels niiiiiice.

And honestly, neither of these teams looked good doing it. Gunnarrhea scraped together a .214 AVG (hard carried by a .319 Sunday), alongside 86 Batting Strikeouts, that ugly 6.19 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 8 losses, and .286 BAA.. Meanwhile, BTA Boyz weren’t exactly cooking either — 6 HRs, 103 total bases, -1 net steals, and some very mid pitching across the board. Not a pretty week for either guys but hey, get that shot ready boy

League takeaway: It's just waaaaay too easy — and the commish just proved he doesn’t need pretty stats to ruin your week. If you let Gunnarrhea hang around, you’re already cooked. Ya'll hear that?! COOKED

John's Super Team vs Mactown MacDaddies

Result: A comeback for one — a collapse for the other
John's Super Team 8.5 – 7.5 Mactown MacDaddies

Mactown MacDaddies ....... YOU HAD IT!! And you let your first win slip away to a guy that shaves his face with the same clippers he uses to shave his balls... I'm kidding i have no idea if thats true, but anyway's, Coming into Sunday, MacDaddies were up 11-5, looking comfortable… and then completely collapsed, losing 8.5 - 7.5!! It feels good doesn't it Johnny?! Comeback wins taste a little better. Both offenses showed up this week. Macdaddies took a majority of the hitting categories thanks to the help of the Southside Samurai and the rest of the Southsiders! Man are those Sox players hot or what?!?! But even with the help of the powerhouse White Sox players, John's Super Team stayed balanced across the board and did just enough everywhere to pull it out. And at this point, it’s the same story every week for the MacDaddies — the offense does its job, and the pitching completely shits the bed

MacDaddies hit the Pickle with 15 HRs, 45 Runs, and 41 RBI's, which is pretty solid. But putting up Gunnarrhea pitching numbers like a 6.23 ERA, .290 BAA, 37Ks, and 1.57 WHIP makes it real hard to win games. Once the Macdaddies clean up the pitching, I'm telling y'all, they'll be back. But until then, hope the bottom of the standings feels nice

League takeaway: John’s Super Team proved no lead is safe. MacDaddies proved theirs definitely isn’t until the pitching gets fixed.
