Goodyear Takes the 1 Seed, Mactown Sneaks In, Bo & BTA Get Sent Home

The regular season closes with Goodyear locking up the top seed, Mactown backing into the final playoff spot, Bo choking away his last chance, and BTA officially finishing 10th with the 2027 first overall pick waiting for them.

By: Gunnarrhea Week: 21 Feature: Matchup-by-matchup recap

Week 21 is officially in the books, and the UTI regular season is finally over. Goodyear Gila Monsters left absolutely no doubt about the No. 1 seed, hammering Me So Heorny 13–3 and rolling into the playoffs on a five-week winning streak. BB's Bold Team handled You Don't Know Bo 12.5–3.5, Gunnarrhea embarrassed John's Super Team 13.5–2.5, and Dixon Cider beat Mactown MacDaddies 10–6.

Somehow, that Mactown loss still ended with a celebration. Bo had a wide-open chance to steal the final playoff spot and instead got his ass kicked by BB, allowing the MacDaddies to back into the No. 8 seed. BTA Boyz couldn't save themselves either, finishing 8–8 against This Is Mizerable and officially ending the year in 10th place, which at least puts them on the clock with the 2027 first overall pick. So that's it: Goodyear owns the top seed, Mactown survives, Bo and BTA are headed home, and the rest of you idiots are officially one bad playoff week away from getting sent to the toilet bowl.

Weekly 21 Weekly Category Winner Weekly categories are done for the year

Mactown MacDaddies vs Dixon Cider

Result: Dixon's bats did enough damage to make Mactown's 1.91 ERA completely useless.
Mactown MacDaddies 6 – 10 Dixon Cider

MacDaddies holy shit your pitching staff showed up for once, even though you did barely cross the minimun IP by only 3 innings. But hey, fuck it. A 1.91 ERA, 1.061 WHIP and .187 BAA is an absurd week. Unfortunately though, the offense showed up carrying a nerf gun to an Englewood shootout. The MacDaddies produced just 31 runs, seven homers, 27 RBI and 97 total bases, losing seven of the eight hitting categories. Mactown took batting strikeouts and dominated the pitching ratios, but when your hitters get buried that badly, even Greg Maddux pitching every day isn't rescuing you. But luckily for you, the 2025 GM of the Year couldn't close it out, so the MacDaddies clinch the 8th seed in the playoffs!

And now with a complete flip from Mactown, Dixon Cider apparently decided pitching was optional because the offense was more than willing to do all the work. Dixon piled up an elite 48 runs, 14 homers, 47 RBI, eight net steals and 147 total bases, taking seven of eight hitting categories. The staff itself was mediocre at a 3.98 ERA and 1.465 WHIP, but Dixon still grabbed the pitching strikeout category and benefited from four pitching ties to comfortably walk away with the 10–6 win. Go PG!!

League takeaway: Mactown wasted their best pitching week all season because their offense completely disappeared, while Dixon proved you can survive shaky pitching when your hitters spend the entire week kicking the door down.

You Don't Know Bo vs BB's Bold Team

Result: BB beat Bo so badly the matchup needed a mercy rule.
You Don't Know Bo 3.5 – 12.5 BB's Bold Team

Aaaaaaaaaaaand there goes Bo. Everyone say goodbye Bo! Bo's future was in their own hands due to the MacDaddies loss. But Bo couldn't figure out how to take down BB. Bo managed to only win RBI, batting strikeouts and AVG, tie in losses, and then spent the rest of Week 21 watching BB take everything that wasn't nailed down. The offense actually hit .265, but just 35 runs and 10 homers limited the damage, while the pitching staff finished with only 39.1 innings, 33 strikeouts and three quality starts. The 3.43 ERA wasn't disastrous, but the 1.398 WHIP and .270 BAA were nowhere close to what BB put on the board. Going into next season, Bo needs to really start investing in some quality arms get those those IP up if they want to compete in some of these categories. 39 IP will not cut it most weeks.

BB's Bold Team didn't even need a particularly good batting average to beat the brakes off Bo. I know BB wasn't worried in the slightest against this bum ass Bo team. Still not the same since Frank left us. He's probably turning in his grave. But BB hit only .237, yet still took five offensive categories behind 43 runs, 13 homers, seven net steals and 122 total bases. Then the pitching staff completely shut the door with a 2.44 ERA, 1.032 WHIP, 67 strikeouts, six quality starts, six NS and a .208 BAA. When you can hit .237 and still win by nine categories, your opponent has probably done something terribly wrong. And BB was sure that Bo would because I know for a fact he was more focused on Me So Heorny trying to take down Goodyear so BB could sneak into 1st place.

League takeaway: For a team called You Don't Know Bo, Week 21 gave us a pretty definitive answer: we know Bo got his ass kicked.

BTA Boyz vs This Is Mizerable

Result: BTA and Mizerable fought for seven days just to accomplish absolutely nothing.
BTA Boyz 8 – 8 This Is Mizerable

BTA somehow built an 8–8 tie by being two completely different teams depending on which side of the roster you looked at. The offense did enough to take runs, homers, RBI, walks and batting strikeouts, while the pitching staff posted a 2.96 ERA, 1.094 WHIP and a ridiculous 10 quality starts. Holy fucking shit BTA Boyz, where has this been all season?! This might be the most QS by a team the entire year! Look at you go homie. Way to close it out decently. It does hurt though that y'all also lost wins 7–4, pitching strikeouts 71–65 and NS 6–0, which kept what looked like a winning week from actually becoming one. After this loss too. The BTA Boyz officially take the 10th seed, miss the playoffs and are on the clock with the 2027 1st round draft pick.

This Is Mizerable, thank you for not losing this one because I did not want to deal with Dixon Cider round 1 of the playoffs. I'd rather beat her in the championship so I don't feel thaaaaaat bad. But Mizerable survived the BTA's pitching barrage by doing exactly enough everywhere BTA wasn't dominant. They hit .268 with 122 total bases, then used 71 pitching strikeouts, seven wins, six NS and a .194 BAA to claw all the way back to an 8–8 draw. The 3.98 ERA and 1.153 WHIP weren't anything special, but when your opponent posts 10 quality starts and you still leave without a loss, you take the tie and sprint for the exit.

League takeaway: Ten quality starts and a sub-3.00 ERA somehow weren't enough to get BTA a win, while Mizerable pulled off one of those ties that feels a whole lot more like an escape.

John's Super Team vs Gunnarrhea

Result: Gunnarrhea gave John's “Super Team” a very aggressive reality check.
John's Super Team 2.5 – 13.5 Gunnarrhea

The Ice Man strikes again, but this time their frozen offense and pitching comes with a NASTY NASTY NAAAAAAAASTY case of Gunnarrhea. Ice man got absolutely buried in one of the biggest ass-kickings of Week 21 as they hit just .209, managed only 102 total bases and watched Gunnarrhea beat him essentially everywhere except net steals, where a 7–5 advantage saved him from complete humiliation. The pitching wasn't any better either, finishing with a 4.98 ERA, 1.596 WHIP, 48 strikeouts and only one quality start. Y'all freaking hear that?! Out of an entire week, only 1 QS! Fuccccck dude BTA Boyz got 10! John did manage ties in HR, wins and losses, which is basically the fantasy baseball equivalent of finding three quarters under the couch, and then the couch falls on you and kills you.

Gunnarrhea wasn't worried in the slightest as they went against the coldest team in fantasy baseball, as they completely dismantling the Ice Man 13.5–2.5. The offense hit .286 with 43 runs, 42 RBI and 131 total bases while striking out only 74 times, which is honestly insane because Gunnarrhea never wins this category. The pitching staff backed it up with a 3.80 ERA, 1.070 WHIP, 66 strikeouts and five quality starts. Gunnarrhea won 12 categories outright and tied three more, with net steals being the only category John could actually take from them.

League takeaway: After spending plenty of the season wasting its talent, Gunnarrhea finally put together the kind of complete week that reminds everyone why this roster was supposed to be dangerous in the first place.

Me So Heorny vs Goodyear Gila Monsters

Result: Gila turned Heorny's $86 Joshua Baez investment into a 13–3 tax write-off.
Me So Heorny 3 – 13 Goodyear Gila Monsters

I'm sorry I thought this was supposed to be the matchup of the week. On paper, this looked like some real nasty shit was going to be happening between these two teams. But suprise suprise, Me So Heorny got absolutely flattened by Gila and really didn't have many arguments afterward. They hit a respectable .263, but that average disguised an offense that produced just 31 runs, seven homers and 122 total bases, while the pitching staff finished with a 4.65 ERA and 1.306 WHIP. Heorny salvaged AVG, batting strikeouts and losses, but lost everything else, including getting smoked 11–5 in net steals and 75–63 in pitching strikeouts. Apparently spending $86 on Joshua Baez does not come with a coupon for extra category wins.

Goodyear put together manother massacre in Week 21, steamrolling Me So Heorny 13–3 with one of the most complete performances on the board. It's even more impressive doing this against one of the top seeded teams in the league. The offense went for 51 runs, 14 homers, 43 RBI, 11 net steals and 142 total bases, then the pitchers piled on with a 3.18 ERA, 1.035 WHIP, 75 strikeouts, five quality starts and six NS. Gila didn't just dominate one part of this matchup — they pretty much chose all of them as they put up absolute ELITE numbers. This is very very worrysome considering this next week is playoffs, and Goodyear is looking to be unbeatable.

League takeaway: Gila continues to look terrifying when both sides of the roster show up at the same time, while Heorny just paid premium prices for a front-row seat to a 13–3 beating.
