Goodyear Cracks BB’s Armor

Me So Heorny came up with a niiiiice bounceback week and proved that last week was just a fluke, taking down This is Mizerable 12.5–3.5 and snapping their two-game win streak. After that horrendous offensive showing last week, Heorny came out swinging with 74 hits, 47 runs, 12 homers, 43 RBI, and 133 total bases. The pitching was even nastier, posting a ridiculous 1.67 ERA, 1.036 WHIP, 79 strikeouts, 6 wins, 5 quality starts, and a .200 BAA. If only we can bring these numbers to the softball games :(. But that is exactly the kind of response you want from a team trying to keep pace with BB’s Bold Team and Goodyear at the top.

This is Mizerable came crashing back down to reality and started looking like their normal selves again. Their week basically got cursed on Monday when one reliever posted a 40.50 ERA with a blown save and another dropped a 10.80 ERA while taking the loss — both in the same game. That disaster set the tone for the entire matchup as Mize finished with a brutal 5.13 ERA, 1.215 WHIP, 2 wins, 5 losses, and a .233 BAA. The little win streak was cute while it lasted, but Me So Heorny just reminded the league that Mizeerable might still be Mizerable.

Guys, is Gunnarrhea back!?! That’s two confirmed cases in a row and we ain’t lookin to stop spreading anytime soon. Now I know what y’all are saying, “Oh this was against those weak ass BTA Boyz, anyone could beat them.” Well yeah, that’s true, but if y’all didn’t see those numbers, boy oh boy, Gunnarrhea was cooking up some nasty work. The bats exploded for 91 hits, 47 runs, 18 homers, 54 RBI, and 166 total bases, while the pitching staff piled up 108 strikeouts, 5 wins, 4 quality starts, 8 net saves, and a .216 BAA. The 111 strikeouts at the plate we can ignore. We still nasty over here and bring that BTA Boyz losing streak to 10 games.

BTA Boyz actually started off absolutely on FIRE too, which makes this loss even funnier. This was one of their hottest offensive weeks, with 65 hits, 38 runs, 11 homers, 44 RBI, and a .274 AVG. Dansby Swanson, completely outta nowhere, drove in 15 RBI in the opening series and briefly made the league wonder if BTA had something cooking. But then he didn't get another RBI the rest of the week. Then the pitching staff got absolutely shelled, finishing with a brutal 5.18 ERA, 1.288 WHIP, 5 losses, and a .269 BAA. Garrett Cole is looking like a shell of his former self, Framber looks completely different after getting traded, Skenes must have some Livvy problems because he got rocked with a 7.00 ERA, Zac Gallen is no longer relevent, and I don’t even know why Yu Darvish and Nasty Nestor are still being rolled out there like this is a baseball retirement home.

Here we go baby!!! Prime time entertainment as the 1st and 2nd seed clashed in the Week 13 Matchup of the Week. BB’s 8-game win streak was on the line, Goodyear’s 5-game win streak was on the line, and Goodyear came out on top with a huge 9.5–6.5 win. Unfortunately for BB, the offense took a little snooze in their biggest week, finishing with only 31 runs, 6 homers, 34 RBI, and 107 total bases. The pitching was still dominant with a 2.66 ERA, 1.063 WHIP, 75 strikeouts, 7 wins, and 8 quality starts, but when the bats go quiet against a team like Goodyear, you’re cooked.

Goodyear didn’t have their biggest offensive week either, but it was enough to carry them across the finish line with 80 hits, 39 runs, 10 homers, 39 RBI, and 130 total bases. What’s very surprising though is that their pitching record was horrendous with only 2 wins and 6 losses, but the actual ratios were filthy: 2.65 ERA, 0.971 WHIP, 8 net saves, and a .197 BAA. Luckily for BB, Goodyear’s pitchers couldn’t get any run support or this matchup would have been VERY lopsided. Instead, Goodyear settles for snapping the streak, tightening the race at the top to 0.5 games, and reminding BB that being first place does not make you safe from getting smakced around.

The Mactown MacDaddies finally snapped their 3-game losing streak and handed it to John's Super Team, but let’s not act like this was some beautiful bounceback masterpiece. This was a sorry a pretty performance by both teams. Neither of them really deserved a win, but someone had to come out on top, and Mactown did just enough with with 74 hits, 38 runs, 36 RBI, 35 walks, 4 steals, and a .278 AVG. The power wasn't there as they put up only 5 homeruns and 104 TBs, but the contact hitting was there to carry. The MacDaddies offense remains one of the most bipolar units in the league — either top of the board or buried in the basement. This was not their best week, but luckily for them, the only offense that looked worse was standing right across from them.

John's Super Team, supposedly one of the powerhouse offenses in the league, is starting to look very, very shaky. They finished with only 32 runs, 19 RBI, and a .237 AVG, which is not exactly terrifying anyone in the playoff race. The pitching was even uglier, getting cooked for a 6.05 ERA, 1.545 WHIP, and .294 BAA. Mactown’s pitching was not good either with a 4.29 ERA and 1.324 WHIP, but Johnboy somehow managed to be worse. John's Super Team drops to .500 and slides down to 5th place, while Mactown gets a much-needed win and temporarily stops the bleeding.

Dang You Don't Know Bo... what happened?! Everyone thought you had the upset secured. Going into Sunday, Bo was sitting pretty in a few categories and Junior Caminero was putting the team on his back with 7 home runs, which was more than half of Bo’s 13 homers for the entire week. The offense actually showed up with 77 hits, 39 runs, 50 RBI, 32 walks, 6 steals, and 133 total bases, but somehow, someway, losers find ways to lose. One blown save from a reliever on Sunday night helped skyrocket the BAA category, and a couple late runs from Dixon Cider flipped just enough to steal the matchup. All Bo needed was one more run to tie, and of course there were non-starters sitting in the active lineup while bench guys had the run he needed. Ouch.

I’m sure our 2025 champion, Dixon Cider, had a massive sigh of relief after almost losing to the 9 seed You Don't Know Bo. Her offense mostly took the week off, finishing with a rough .214 AVG, only 68 hits, 9 homers, and 30 RBI, but the pitching came through when it mattered. Dixon’s staff put up a strong 3.09 ERA, 1.029 WHIP, 89 strikeouts, 5 wins, 6 quality starts, and a .194 BAA, which was just enough to survive one of those off weeks that seem to be popping up a little too often this year. It wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win, and Dixon Cider just avoided becoming the punchline of the week.
